Sol e Poeira 2020/2021 (Vinyl LP)
“Sol e Poeira” is a vivid journey where Hammond soul jazz meets Brazilian rhythms, Afro-Brazilian percussion and cinematic soundscapes, creating an original and deeply evocative instrumental experience.

Du Rompa Hammond Trio brings a distinctly Brazilian perspective to the Hammond organ trio tradition. One of the few groups of its kind in Brazil, the trio places the Hammond at the heart of a contemporary instrumental sound shaped by Brazilian rhythms, soul jazz, psychedelia, improvisation and Afro-Brazilian influences.
Since its formation, the trio has released three original albums, including the double live vinyl O Beijo da Serpente – Ao Vivo (2026), and performed at major festivals and venues across Brazil, including Blue Note São Paulo, Sesc, Mostra Jazz Campinas, Festival Internacional Chorando Sem Parar, Festival de Jazz de São Roque and Fundinho Jazz Festival. Along the way, they have shared stages and festival line-ups with artists such as Arismar do Espírito Santo, Toninho Ferragutti, Michael Pipoquinha and Victor Biglione.
Following a recent tour in Italy, Du Rompa Hammond Trio returns to Europe with a powerful live set driven by groove, improvisation and the unmistakable sound of the Hammond organ.
Live Performance of “Buluc Chabtan”Mostra Jazz Campinas, Brazil, 2025In the mid-1930s, Laurens Hammond created, drawing from the mechanism of a piano and his experience with clocks, an instrument that would revolutionize music: the Hammond Organ.
Electromechanical, both rugged and sophisticated, the instrument found its most fertile ground in African American culture, becoming a powerful voice in blues, jazz, soul, groove, and later rock. Its almost inseparable pairing with the Leslie speaker created one of the most distinctive sonic textures in modern music.
In Brazil, the Hammond became known through Lafayette, the samba-jazz movement, and later groups such as Hammond Groove, but it remains relatively underexplored. Today, this legacy continues in the hands of Du Rompa, keeping the tradition of the instrument alive while reinventing it within Brazilian instrumental music.

“Sol e Poeira” is a vivid journey where Hammond soul jazz meets Brazilian rhythms, Afro-Brazilian percussion and cinematic soundscapes, creating an original and deeply evocative instrumental experience.
“O Beijo da Serpente” is a conceptual journey where Hammond soul jazz and Brazilian music meet psychedelic soundscapes, Afro-Brazilian rhythms and ancient myths, creating an immersive and original musical saga.
“O Beijo da Serpente – Ao Vivo” is a bold double live album capturing the raw energy of the trio before an audience, blending psychedelic Hammond, Brazilian rhythms and the conceptual atmosphere of the studio album with poetic narration from the Serpente Cronos saga.
